Please carefully read the UMERGENCY Privacy Policy which explains how your personal information is used and shared. By using the UMERGENCY application (the “Application”) you acknowledge that you accept the practices and policies outlined in this Privacy Policy.

THE UMERGENCY PRIVACY POLICY COVERAGE

The UMERGENCY Privacy Policy covers the use of personally identifiable information (“Personal information”) that you submit, or UMERGENCY otherwise gathers, when you access or use the Application.

WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DOES UMERGENCY COLLECT?

By downloading and enabling the Application, you are authorizing UMERGENCY to access and store all of the foregoing types of information:

The Student User: Contact information, such as, full name, address, mailing address, phone number, Email, password, personal photo (optional), location (optional), college, Digital Consent Form, Health Insurance Card Photo.

Personal Contacts: Name, Email, Phone numbers of Roommates, Trusted Friends. Relatives, Resident Advisor, Dorm Front Desk, Photos (optional).

Billing Information: Such as, a credit card number, expiration date, billing address.

The Parent User: Full Names, Emails, Password, Address, Personal Photo (optional), Name of Student to link to.

USAGE OF THE INFORMATION COLLECTED BY UMERGENCY

Users receive instant access to critical on and off campus resources that are pre-populated: ER, Health, Safety, Transportation, specific to the student’s campus and community.

Student Users decide who they want linked to their account (their trusted contacts) so that specific trusted contacts have access to the same information.

The digital consent form enables parents and/or trusted contacts to speak with healthcare professionals and obtain related information during an emergency. The digital consent form would be either Emailed or sent by text from a “linked” account to the health care professional.

If the Urgent Alert Button is activated, it sends an in-app “push” notification, Email or text to the trusted “linked” contacts (that the student has chosen to receive).

Stored Photo of insurance card may be Emailed to a medical provider, or shown on a phone.

Emergency Services: Your information will be used primarily to provide you with the Application services, ­which include contacting emergency services on your behalf but UMERGENCY is not a replacement for emergency services. Every attempt is made to ensure that we have an accurate database, but we are not responsible for inaccuracies.

DOES UMERGENCY SHARE ANY OF THE PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTED?

To the limited extent UMERGENCY collects Personal Information, we neither rent nor sell your Personal Information to anyone. We share your Personal Information only as described below.

Emergency Services: As mentioned above, we will share your location and other personal information with emergency service organizations and personnel in the event of an emergency contact.

BUSINESS TRANSFERS: If UMERGENCY or substantially all of its assets were acquired, or in the unlikely event that UMERGENCY goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, customer information would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of UMERGENCY may continue to use your Personal Information as set forth in this policy.

AGENTS: We employ other companies and people to perform tasks on our behalf. Your information may be accessed by these partners/employees, in the event that we need to share your information with them to provide our services or customer support to you. Unless we tell you differently, UMERGENCY’S agents do not have any right to use Personal Information we share with them beyond what is necessary to assist us.

Protection of UMERGENCY and Others: We may release Personal Information when we believe in good faith that release is necessary or required to comply with the law; enforce or apply our conditions of use and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of UMERGENCY, our employees, our users, or others. With Your Consent: and except as set forth above, you will be notified when your Personal Information may be shared with third parties, and you will be able to prevent the sharing of this information.

CONDITIONS OF USE

If you decide to access or use the Application, such access and use and any possible dispute over privacy is subject to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use, including limitations on damages, arbitration of disputes, and application of California state law.

Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies: Cookies are very small text files that are stored on your computer when you visit certain web pages. We use cookies on our site to keep track of login names, and passwords and other data.

THIRD PARTY WEBSITES; OR THIRD PARTY APPLICATIONS

Third party websites on the Internet, or third party mobile applications, may contain links to the Application. These other websites and applications are not under UMERGENCY control, and such links do not constitute an endorsement by UMERGENCY of those other websites or the services offered through them. The privacy and security practices of websites linked to or from the Application are not covered by this Privacy Policy, and UMERGENCY is not responsible for the privacy or security practices or the content of such websites.

DATA RETENTION

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you wish to cancel your account please contact us at: info@umergencyapp.com. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

SECURITY

When we collect personal information directly from you, we follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. CHILDREN

The safety and privacy of children is extremely important to us. Every Application member must be over 16 years of age. Minors, younger than 16, are prohibited from signing up or using the Application in any way. If you receive information that a member is under 16, we require the member to provide evidence of being over 16. If such evidence is not provided in a timely manner, we will terminate the user’s account and nullify all personally identifiable information collected from such user

CHANGES TO THE UMERGENCY PRIVACY POLICY

UMERGENCY may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. Use of information we collect is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is collected. If we make changes in the way we use Personal Information, we will notify you by posting an announcement on our website, or via the Application, or sending you an email. Users are bound by any changes to the Privacy Policy when they use the Application after such changes have been posted.
